The Artist’s Way Accountability

Unlock your creativity with accountability and support working in a small group

Julia Cameron’s

The Artists Way

Over 14 weeks, The Artists Way program supports artists to reconnect with their creativity. Doing the program on your own is hard. I offer a supportive environment with a group of up to 11 others to check in each week and share our experiences.

UNLOCK YOUR CREATIVITY

Who is it for?

Creatives and writers working in any media. You’ll need to commit 6 to 8 hours a week to the process over a period of 3 months.

Turn up to the weekly 1.5 hour check in calls on Zoom. Over and over again participants tell me this is where the magic happens. Even if you don’t feel prepared for your personal check in, support the others and learn from their progress.

CREATIVE CHANGE

How does it work?

Once you’re signed up, you will be sent log in details to a personal dashboard where you track your progress for the foundational tasks set each week. These include:

Morning Pages
Artists Dates
Weekly Exercises
Weekly Check ins

Your personal dashboard provides a space to capture reflections and notes if you wish. These can be saved as a PDF for you to keep or transfer elsewhere.

creative clusters

Better together

The Artist’s Way is experiential. It is not something that can be taught. Working with an Accountability Group, you will have the support to keep going when it get hards, to check in and share with others your experience, and learn how others are progressing. This shared experience not only helps you individually to reflect on your progress, but widens the scope of what you will learn along the way.

Julia Cameron’s thoughts on this are:

I envisioned [groups] as peer-run circles – “creative clusters” – where people would serve one another as believing mirrors, uniting with the common aim of creative unblocking.

Creative clusters, where we gather as peers to develop our strength, are best regarded as tribal gatherings, where creative beings raise, celebrate, and actualize the creative power which runs through us all.

My personal Artist’s Way journey

I am a working artist. I paint and work in mixed media including collage. My copy of The Artist’s Way is many years old and after several attempts at doing it on my own and never getting past week 5, I suggested to a group of fellow creatives that we work through it as a group. The difference was incredible and led to bringing people together in these accountability groups.

I personally revisit The Artist’s Way about once every 2 years, each time it brings something new to my practice. I find joy in the accountability groups as small groups work through the weekly exercises and embed the tools into their daily practice. The joy of seeing others unlocking their personal creativity.
